I love your Marine Corps Groomscake!! How did you do the logo in buttercream? I have to make a cake for a friend for becoming a marine and would love to do it in all buttercream. Any suggestions, tips or advice? Thank you so much. All your cakes look wonderful and delicious.
Thank you Marizza. The easiest way to accomplish this is to cover the entire cake in a layer of buttercream. Then, with a toothpick, sketch the design onto the cake. Start piping the outline by color with a simple round tip. Then fill in each section with the star tip. Always do the words first, then fill in around them with the appropriate color. I always print a picture or logo from the internet and use it as a visual guide when drawing the design with the toothpick. If you make any errors, just smooth it out and try again until it looks right. Hope it goes well for you!
Lacee drew the artwork and I transfered it onto the cake. We used a penguin because it is Ms. stancil's favorite animal, and the TKD theme was because she is a blackbelt and instructor. The first time Mom and Dad-to-be
